Who can use Docmate?
To use Docmate, you must be –
- Located in Australia
- Be at least 18 years of age
Note: Individuals below 18 can access our services in the presence of their legal guardian. If you have an underage child, you can add their details to your profile and schedule an appointment for them. However, our doctors cannot offer a consultation for your child if you request it under your name.
Are Docmate partner doctors licensed?
Yes, all our partner doctors are AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) registered and fully insured. We wish to bring to you quality medical care that you can rely on. All our doctors abide by the highest clinical standards and support you in your healthcare journey.
Will I definitely receive a medical prescription?
Scheduling an appointment and connecting with our partner doctors for an online consultation doesn’t guarantee a medical prescription. Our online prescriptions will only be issued if deemed appropriate by our medical partners. This is to ensure adherence to proper medical procedures and standards.
You can be denied a prescription based on your responses to our digital medical consultation, your medical history and more.
Can I request a male or female doctor?
Yes, you can request a male or female doctor. While we try to accommodate your request, it depends on our partner doctor’s availability. Based on their schedule, you might have to wait longer for your consultation.
Do I have to provide my Medicare number?
For telehealth consultations, you don’t have to provide your Medicare number. But for e-script, you will have to provide your Medicare details or IHI (Individual Healthcare Identifier) number to ensure adherence with the Australian Government rules regarding Telehealth.
Do you offer bulk billing?
At Docmate, we provide cost-effective medical services at rates often lower than typical out-of-pocket expenses for Medicare-covered consultations or other telehealth providers.
Due to current Medicare regulations, rebates are only available if you have seen the same doctor in person within the past 12 months. As such, our services are not bulk billed, but we aim to keep our fees as affordable as possible for everyone.
What are your hours of operation?
Our doctors are available from 8 AM till Midnight*, 7 days a week. Our doctors work extended hours to best meet your immediate requirements and fit your busy lifestyle.
What happens once my prescription is approved?
Once your prescription is approved, you’ll receive a QR code via SMS or email. You can present this code at any pharmacy to have your medication dispensed. If you’ve opted for home delivery, your medication will be shipped directly to your door within the estimated timeframe provided at the time of ordering.
What if I miss the call from my partner doctor?
If you miss the initial call, you’ll be placed back into the virtual waiting room. Your partner practitioner may attempt to reconnect with you shortly. In some cases, you may receive an SMS beforehand to help ensure you’re ready to take the call when it comes through.
